Essential duties:
Duties and Responsibilities includes, but not limited to:
- Perform general NDT (Level-2) examination on vessel, columns, storage tanks, etc. to support the routine, major and intermediate inspections being performed by inspection Engineers.
- Perform on-stream NDT examinations, surveys and prepares isometric sketches of new piping systems for recording purposes and pass on to Technical Assistant for preparation of the inspection isometric with the TML identified by PIE and /or CME.
- Perform on stream NDT examinations of all registered process piping systems as part of corrosion monitoring survey.
- Perform general NDT examinations on all new fabrications, modifications, repairs and refurbishment relevant lo applicable codes and standards.
- Perform manual/automatic ultrasonic inspection (including LRUT, PAUT/ToFD) for flaw detection in welds, de-lamination surveys and thickness measurement of pipe wall, structural TKY joints and pressure vessel plates.
- Perform X-ray and/or Gamma ray radiography of welds, castings, forgings, plate and pipes.
- Performs pipe wall and nozzle profile radiography and calculates actual wall thickness based on known reference material thickness.
- Perform change out and loading of new I old IR 192 isotope following international safety procedures.
- Control of records and inventory regarding isotopes quantity, storage and movement in onshore / offshore fields.
- Monitor and control the level of radioactive exposure of each qualified personnel.
- Perform Magnetic particle testing (dry or wet) using fluorescent, visible or water base particles on AC, DC, and longitudinal & circumferential magnetization technique.
- Perform Dye penetrant flaw detection (fluorescent or visible dye) and MFL technique
- Perform IRIS and Eddy current testing of heat exchanger tubes.
- Perform PAUT and TOFO testing to pressure vessels and piping.
- Perform surface eddy current testing of welds and parent metal.
- Perform infra-red thermographic imaging of pipelines, process lines, vessels and storage tanks as may be required.
- Perform ACFM testing on pressure vessels, pipelines and storage tanks.
- Handling and application of permit to work system.
- Maintain and upgrades their relevant NDT qualification certificate to acceptable international standards, i.e. ASNT, PCN, ERS. EN or equivalent.
- All qualification to ASNT shall be endorsed and stamped by an independent ASNT NDT /ACCP Level III examiner in each NDT method.
- NDT technicians report directly to NDT supervisors.
Qualifications
- Minimum High School followed by Trade School or equivalent training.
- Must be computer literate and able to use MS office packages, AutoCAD or other technical drawing software in order to prepare reports and drawings using computer.
- Must have good written and spoken English.
- Qualified to ASNT Level 2, PCN, ERS, CSWIP, EN or equivalent.
- Theoretical and practical training to basic level in required NDT methods as certified by internationally recognized authority.
- Minimum experience of 5 years in Oil and Gas processing or Power generation industry onshore and offshore location.
- Experience in fabrication yard/workshop and construction field of pressure vessel, storage tanks and piping spools is an added advantage.
