We are seeking an experienced Offshore Mooring Inspector to support offshore mooring System Installation in Argentina. T
he successful candidate will be responsible for inspection, verification, and integrity assessment of mooring systems for offshore assets, ensuring compliance with international standards and project specifications.
This role requires strong offshore experience, technical competence in mooring systems, and the ability to operate effectively in a dynamic offshore environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform offshore inspections of mooring systems including:
o Chains, wires, synthetic ropes
o Shackles, connectors, swivels
o Anchors and associated hardware
- Conduct visual and dimensional inspections in accordance with project specifications and applicable standards (e.g., API, DNV, ISO).
- Verify installation, tensioning, and pre-tension procedures.
- Witness and document mooring deployment and hook-up operations.
- Identify defects, corrosion, wear, fatigue damage, and non-conformities.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports including photographic documentation.
- Ensure compliance with HSE policies and offshore safety procedures.
- Coordinate with marine crew, installation contractors, and client representatives.
- Support integrity management and maintenance planning activities.
Requirements
Technical Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Mooring Inspector or similar offshore inspection role.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Offshore mooring systems (spread mooring, turret mooring, CALM buoys, etc.)
- Marine hardware and rigging equipment
- Inspection and certification standards
- Familiarity with:
- API RP 2I / 2SK
- DNV mooring standards
- Class society requirements
Certifications
- Valid offshore certifications (mandatory):
- BOSIET – Basic Offshore Safety Induction & Emergency Training (internationally recognised OPITO standard) covering emergency response, firefighting, first aid and survival.
- HUET – Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (often part of BOSIET/FOET)
- Offshore medical valid Medical Certificate
- Rigging or lifting inspection certification (preferred)
- NDT Level II certification (advantageous)
- IRATA (if rope access work required – advantageous)
Experience
- Minimum 5 years offshore experience in mooring inspection or marine construction.
- Experience working on FPSO, FSO, semi-submersible, or similar offshore assets preferred.
- Previous experience in South America or Argentina is an advantage.
Skills
- Reporting and documentation skills.
- Ability to work in multicultural teams.
- High commitment to HSE and operational excellence.
- Fluent English (Spanish is a strong advantage).
