Our Client, a leading international company specializes in trade and distribution of oil and gas products, has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Operations Officer for their office in Zug - Switzerland.
Essential duties
- Preparation and execution of contracts for the purchase and sale of different products, as well as for crude oil and crude oil products.
- Coordination between suppliers, customers and service providers for deliveries of various products.
- Customer credit risk management and compliance/KYC checks.
- Supervision and coordination of shipments via Rail/Pipeline/Truck/Vessel.
- Pricing, invoicing, dunning.
- Commodity insurance matters.
- Submission and assessment of demurrage claims.
- Submission and assessment of quality and quantity complaints.
- Preparation of operational business data for internal reporting and planning/monitoring purposes.
- Technical commentary on projects and contracts.
Qualifications
- Higher education in an industry-relevant field.
- Several years of experience in trading operations? experience with multiple types of transport/storage and experience relevant to the oil and gas industry are preferred. (minimum 2 years, but no more than 7 years)
- A solid understanding of standard contractual elements and language, Incoterms, payment terms, payment securities, shipping documentation, pricing/invoicing.
- The ability to quickly understand new concepts and comprehend the essence of the ongoing deals.
- The ability to focus on multiple issues at once, and maintain a concise overview of complex situations with multiple moving elements.
- The ability to prioritise tasks, and maintain a clean and orderly digital environment.
- The ability to work in a controlled manner, and at full efficiency, in high-pressure / dynamic situations.
- A solution-driven, creative and curious nature ? eager to undertake new projects, new deal types, to understand how processes work and to optimize where the opportunity arises.
- The willingness to maintain a standard trading operations schedule, which can sometimes include monitoring and reacting to elements outside of regular office hours.
- An above average understanding of Excel and the Office suite
- The ability to engage in formal communication and to cross cultural barriers.
- A willingness to take honest and transparent ownership of tasks and own responsibilities, and an eagerness to assist colleagues wherever possible.
- Knowledge of business English as mandatory, any other languages are a benefit (for example Russian, but not obligatory)
