We are seeking several Project Managers experienced in the construction of Solar Photovoltaic Farms (sized from 100MW up to 500 MW) to oversee one of the 2 construction projects located in Piauì and Minas Gerais in Brazil. 

Responsibilities

  • Analyze project-specific risks and opportunities; develop a risk management plan coordinating project execution strategy, subcontracting strategy and project insurance options.
  • Provide engineering support for PV solar specific engineering issues and value engineering opportunities based on the project-specific risk profile
  • Prepare and draft technical inputs and Employer Requirements for procurement tender documents and contracts.
  • Support the Procurement Manager in analyzing Suppliers and Subcontractors tenders.
  • Acting as Contractor's Representative, operate as the project's single point of contact for all technical and commercial communications.
  • Promote and lead HSE and Quality performance in accordance with the contract and applicable laws and regulations
  • Track project key performance indicators (schedule, cost, quality, scope) and provide inputs/corrective action to ensure progress is according to plan.
  • Evaluate monthly progress reports with an eye toward managing project risks and exploiting project opportunities.
  • Prepare monthly reports for the Client based on contractor reports and first hand observation of the project progress.
  • Offer technical and commercial solutions to local contractors performing project construction works based on past experience and industry best practices.
  • Manage project key findings and criticalities for the timely execution of the contract.
  • Negotiate variation orders as required, managing scope, technical issues and commercial commitments.

 

Qualifications

  • Master degree in engineering, construction management, business or several years experience in related field required.
  • Valid PMP (Project Management Professional) certification issued by the Project Management Institute (PMI) most welcome
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience managing development and/or construction of large scale PV solar projects (from 125 MW up to 375 MW).
  • Experience evaluating and analyzing earned value calculations.
  • Prior experience working in multi-national and multi-lingual project teams.
  • Demonstrated excellence in effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills and the necessary skills to interface with local representatives, clients, vendors, contractors and subcontractors and other project stakeholders.
  • Experience of having worked with clients from design stage through to commercial operations.
  • Demonstrated project financial understanding (such as the development of construction budgets, interpreting and understanding financial reports, financial evaluations, etc.).
  • Written and spoken fluency in English & Portuguese highly desired.
